Original photo that hung in Phil Tippett studio from the production of the epic sci-fi film 'Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back' (1980), the epic space opera movie where, after the rebels are brutally overpowered by the Empire on the ice planet Hoth, Luke Skywalker begins Jedi training with Yoda, while his friends are pursued by Darth Vader.

This lot is part of the Phil Tippett Collection and will come with a co-signed COA by Phil Tippett.

Phil Tippett is the founder and namesake of Tippett Studio. His varied career in visual effects has spanned more than 30 years and includes two Academy Awards; and six nominations, one BAFTA award and four nominations, two Emmys and the advent of modern digital effects in motion pictures.

He is the inventor of the Stop-Motion technique called Go-Motion and even has a dinosaur species named after him: Elaphrosaurus philtippettorum.
