Alaska Wildlife Sculptor Frank Entsminger is donating his limited-edition Kodiak bronze.
Frank created this sculpture to depict one of Alaska’s giants, Kodiak Brown Bear, entitled “Kodiak.” These awesome, massive, magnificent bears are impressive with tremendous power. Frank wanted to portray their immense size, powerful strength and deep respect to the animal in this art piece. The bronze piece is mounted on a beautiful walnut base that swivels. To depict the coast where they live, he added two seagulls flying by. This piece is 18? tall by 12? long and 8? deep weighing 20 pounds.
About the Sculptor: Frank moved to Alaska in 1962, initially working as a taxidermist until fate changed his life when he lost his home to fire. His hands were severely burnt. During his healing in 1976, he continued sculpting wildlife miniatures for ideas of life-size mounts that later turned him to casting his work into bronze limited editions. He has 16 Sold Out editions and another 12 available editions. He has lived in rural Alaska over 40 years south of Tok near the Indian village of Mentasta. Here he continues his sculpting in his studio where he also has a huge collection of bird mounts from all over Alaska and Asia.
We are honored that Frank has chosen to exhibit at our Banquet and we thank him for his donation.
