serial #167753, 30-06, 24'' barrel with an excellent bore. The metal surfaces on this 1950-vintage sporting rifle retain about 93-95% original blue lightly toning to brown with some light handling wear and some areas of light surface oxidation and some fine pitting throughout. The checkered steel buttplate shows more moderate pitting towards its heel. The bolt shows an older jeweling with some mottled gray mixing through, the factory numbering is no longer visible on its underside. The checkered walnut stock rates very good with some light dings and handling marks and some areas of light to more moderate flaking to what appears to be the original varnish. The original sights remain intact, including the front sight hood. The receiver is tapped for mounts, its holes remain vacant. This is a very shootable example of these classic sporting rifles.
