To the unaided eye, the piece looks to be in very good condition. Closer inspection under ultraviolet light reveals inpainting in a few areas. There are approximately ¾ inch oval spots on each side, about midway up. There is a tiny spot, less than 1/8 inch, in the upper right, approximately three inches down and 2 inches from the right. There are two 1/8 inch spots about one inch from the bottom edge at the midway point and there is a faint inpainting spot on the left, approximately ten inches from the bottom and four inches from the left. The varnish is fresh and clear. The piece is framed in a gold scoop moulding. The frame is in good condition with normal wear.
