DEMO LOT
(Walt Disney Studios, c. 1940's). Walt Disney was looking to grow his company when he moved the Walt DIsney Studios from Hyperion to Burbank, California. This included more space and new equipment for his staff and animators. Offered here is a very rare, vintage Walt Disney Studios animator desk from the 1940's. This vintage desk is designed by American industrial designer and architect Kem Weber. Weber also served as the main architect for the Walt Disney Studios at Burbank and is famous for designing and creating the "Airline" chair of 1934. Most of these surviving chairs come from the batch of 300 that were made specifically for the Walt Disney Studios at Burbank. The animator desk has a metal tag on it that reads "Walt Disney Productions, 2400 Alameda Ave., Burbank, California" and has a serial number on the tag of "2686." The 2400 Alameda Ave., Burbank, California address was the first location of the Burbank Walt Disney Studio. The Studios was later re-zoned to the current address of 500 South Buena Vista Street Burbank, CA 91521. The animators desk is in good condition with normal wear from age and use. The dimensions are approximately 72" x 50.5" x 30".
