Wyoming Game and Fish Commissioner Ralph Brokaw has generously provided the Monteith Shop and Wild Sheep Foundation with a 2024 WGFD Commissioner’s license for elk, deer, or pronghorn (buyer’s choice). Purchaser is responsible for either Resident or Non-Resident license fees, depending on the species selected. Your support through this tag will fuel research, management, and conservation of bighorn sheep and other ungulates. The Monteith Shop, at the University of Wyoming, is a dedicated research group that fearlessly confronts the challenges of bighorn sheep ecology through hard-won and gritty data collection. The Monteith Shop aren’t just researchers; they're pioneers pushing the boundaries of ungulate research. Collaring newborn lambs, studying the plants they eat, and evaluating management strategies—all in the relentless pursuit of deepening our understanding of sheep conservation. By piecing together the intricate puzzle of habitat and disease, the Monteith Shop arms managers with the insights needed to make science-based decisions for the effective management and conservation of bighorn sheep. Your contribution doesn't just provide support; it propels research to the forefront of bighorn sheep conservation! This license is independent of WGFD license draw results and WGFD preference points. Purchaser selects the species to be hunted, then selects either a general license (for elk or deer) or selects a limited-entry hunt area/license type (for elk, deer, or pronghorn). Once notified by WSF of the purchaser’s contact information, WGFD License Section provides an affidavit to be returned by the purchaser to WGFD, specifying the hunter, species to be hunted, and choice of “General vs. Limited Quota Hunt Area/License Type” and other information. Once a hunter’s name is specified on the affidavit, this license is NOT transferable. Any individual eligible to hunt in Wyoming may purchase this license.
