Cal. 12 Ga., 2 3/4". S# E951035. Bbl. 20 3/4". Takedown. Matching S#s on receiver & bbl. extension. Receiver has correct "U.S." & flaming bomb on left side over trigger guard & flaming bomb on top of bbl. over chamber. Bbl. markings include "MODEL 97 WINCHESTER 12 GA. 2 3/4 CHAM. CYL.". Correct unmarked bayonet lug & 4 row handguard. Bayonet lug allows muzzle to protrude correctly for WWII gun. Walnut stock set w/ grooved slide handle. Pistol grip buttstock w/ fluted nose. Buttstock has faint boxed "GHD" & crossed cannons w/ black plastic Winchester buttplate. Factory fitted sling swivel in butt. CONDITION: buttstock has professional type refinish w/ slightly obscured markings, light wear, handling marks & slight loss of wood around buttplate. Buttstock has sm. cracks on both sides behind receiver. Forend has worn flaking original finish & notable 2" crack at bottom rear. Metal has 75% original blue w/ light wear & scratches. Very good shiny bore w/ sm. streaks of fouling. (20-1195/RW). CURIO. $2,500-4,000.
