Cleaning rod & bayonet bar are present. Solid, milled upper band. Milled lower band. Stamped trigger guard w/ milled floorplate. Walnut stock set w/ steel takedown hole & cup type buttplate. Buttstock marked on right side w/ waffenamt WAA 135. Stock marked at belly w/ indistinct waffenamt & waffenamt 135 under grip. Original leather sling. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: consignor supplied statement that rifle may have been property of Clarence Thrasher, who served in the US Navy during WWII & also had served as a Beachmaster in Normandy during the invasion of France. 9 7/8" Fullered blade bayonet. Bayonet marked on left ricasso “42 FMJ”. Marked on right ricasso “8754t”. Bayonet has 2 “WAA 59” waffenamts at pommel. Steel scabbard w/ leather frog. Bayonet blade retains 60% original blue & is unsharpened. Smooth walnut grips w/ light wear & staining. Flash guard has wear & sm. dents. Steel scabbard turning gray & patina. 1942 Dated black leather frog has wear, flexing & scuffing. CONDITION: original finish stock set has moderate wear, handling marks & scratches. Metal has worn original finish turning gray w/ spots of patina. Fair, worn bore turning dark in throat area. (21-202/RW). CURIO. $600-900.
