This lg. galvanized steel box measures approx. 29" x 15 1/2" x 14" & is painted field green. There are 2 hinges on the back, 2 carrying handles on the side & 2 latches w/ hasps on the front. All sides are embossed w/ “X” reinforcements. There are paper labels w/ German writing scattered around the box. There is a partially legible name painted on the top of the box. The inside of the box is also painted green & the lid is stenciled, “EIGENTUM DER WAFFEN-SS”. An exceptionally rare equipment or storage box utilized by the Waffen SS. CONDITION: scattered shallow dents throughout. The painted finish on the outside is approx. 50% & approx. 75% on the inside. (02-14912/BF). $500-1,000.
