PEAKED CAP. 1) SPIKE HELMET. A classic WWI Prussian brass trimmed infantry enlisted spike helmet. Helmet features a black leather body w/ brass front plate, spike & base, spine & front visor trim. Prussian & National kokarden, along w/ the chinstrap are present. Inside rear of visor is impressed "B.A.6 TI.A.8 1915" & stamped "4E". Black leather liner is complete but missing its drawstring. CONDITION: helmet body shows minor crazing. All brass is complete & shows a pleasing mellow patina. Tip of brass spike has a sm. dent. Paint on kokarden is 98%. Liner shows wear but no losses. (02-13310/BF). 2) PEAKED CAP. A WWII German infantry enlisted mans peaked cap. Cap has a sage green crown w/ dark green band & white piping denoting infantry. Aluminum Army eagle w/ plated wreath & cockade. No chinstrap. Sweatband present. CONDITION: cap shows some mothing & is a bit dirty. Insignia shows a light patina. There is a sm. red stain on the underside of the crown. Sweatband shows wear w/ minor losses. Sweatshield is missing & there is significant wear & staining to the inside of the cap. (02-13311/BF). $500-700.
