SERIAL NUMBER: 1351791. BARREL: 18". CALIBER: .30 CARBINE. MANUFACTURED: 1942. Early production gun, in the first contract awarded to Underwood. Barrel is Underwood production and is dated "11-42", over a flaming bomb. No import marks found. All internal parts look to be Underwood production, as are the stock and hand guard. There is an "AAV" arsenal re-build stamp on the left side of the stock. Illegible inspectors cartouche on the right side of the butt. "P" firing proof on the wrist. Rack number, "163" on the forearm. Blade front sight and two position flip rear (looks to be Inland production). Arsenal re-applied parkerized finish. Oiled wood stock and forearm. Includes period green canvas sling and oiler. No magazine included. CONDITION: Metal is very good-excellent overall, with some light wear on various parts. Wood has minor handling marks, scrapes and scratches. Bore is shiny with crisp rifling.
