WW2 BRITISH ENFIELD NO.4 MK 1 T SNIPER RIFLE
SERIAL NUMBER: F35200. BARREL: 25". CALIBER: .303 BRITISH. MANUFACTURED: 1944. Made at the BSA factory, with "M47C" marked on the left side of the stock socket. There is a "TR" marked on the left side of the socket as well, in addition to the serial number. Receiver is marked "No.4 Mk.1", lacking the "T" around the ejector screw. Bolt head is numbered "O". Tonnage markings on the muzzle. Import marked "ENGLAND" on the right side of the chamber. Matching numbers on the fore stock, bolt and receiver. Blade front sight, with rear micrometer ladder lacking its battle aperture (correct for a sniper rifle, as the scope must have clearance. Arsenal re-blued finish. The scope pads are replacements. Fore wood has a light oil finish, with the butt stock having a varnished finish. Butt stock also lacks the proper markings on the comb and scope serial number on the tang, making it most likely a replacement. Butt plate is most likely a post war replacement as well. Scope is an original No.32 MK III, dated 1935, and serial matched to the gun. A "broad arrow" mark is present as well. Green wood transit case is included, as well as an original green metal scope tin, and parts to a period leather sling. No magazine is included. CONDITION: Metal is excellent overall, with light wear and a few handling marks/scratches. Forewood is excellent, with a few handling marks. Butt stock has a large chip on the left side of the wrist. Mirror bore with crisp rifling. Mechanically fine. Scope has light finish wear, and scratches. Scope is clear. Reticle seems to be absent. Both cases' have minor handling marks and scratches. C&R
