Cal. 44 Henry Rimfire. S# 156890. Bbl. 20" carbine style w/ fixed front sight & rotating leaf carbine rear sight. Full length mag. Brass action has full coverage period custom engraving. Engraving features circular vignettes of running deer & bear on right side, left side has circular vignette of mountain lion w/ game scene featuring deer on side plate. Scenes are surrounded by fancy borders w/ generous amounts of scroll highlights. Brass trapdoor carbine buttplate has engraving that complements the action. Walnut carbine forearm & straight grip walnut stock. CONDITION: bbl., mag. tube & metal parts have faded to mottled patina showing scattered pitting. Brass action shows a pleasing light patina & has series of dents on bottom of lifter. Extractor is broken. Refinished wood has dark lightly worn appearance showing scratches & marks. Stock has sm. crack left of buttplate peak. Dark heavily pitted bore. (01-17492/DS). ANTIQUE. $15,000-25,000.
