BOWIE KNIFE. Unknown European made Germanic style knife measuring 17” overall w/ 11 3/8” clip point blade. Blade etch covers most of the blade w/ motifs including panoply of arms w/ 2 American flags, a hunter w/ his dog, a hunting horn, hunting bag w/ hunting sword. Knife is brass mounted including sheath w/ an ovoid ribbed ebony grip. CONDITION: very good overall. Blade is overall gray w/ staining, as panels are all discernible, there is an added spurious makers mark of later addition. Brass mounted scabbard retains from button & solid brown leather body. Brass cleaned w/ matching patina to mounts & knife. (02-13152/JS). $400-600.
