Cal. .455 Webley Auto. S# 1. Incomplete blued Hamal patent pistol w/ matching no. modified integral octagonal 6" bbl.; square receiver assembly w/out sights. Only sm. parts are trigger w/ pivot pin & separate detached spring. Smooth walnut grips w/ attachment screws, mag. latch w/ spring, screw attached pivot at mid. point of rear overhang & long screw attached tensioning spring latch on right side of frame. Bottom of grip area incorporates metal plate to protect grips. Bottom of bbl. marked "FABRIQUE D"ARMES AUTOMATIQUE" followed by S# "1". Frame numbered 1 at top front of trigger guard w/in recessed curve. Right side of frame has Simpson Ltd. Import mark indicating Belgium as country of origin. MAGS: none. Designed to use Webley Model 1912. CONDITION: good overall appearance as refinished over occasional areas of light pitting. Good to very good grips w/ light marks mostly on right. Fair bore w/ even light pitting plus 2 light dents from exterior showing slightly in bore located just under 1" from muzzle. PROVENANCE: Ex Abermann Collection; Collection of Dr. Geoffrey Sturgess.
