Original photo that hung in Phil Tippett studio from the production of the John Bruno directed science fiction horror film 'Virus' (1999), which tells the story of a ship beset by a malevolent extraterrestrial entity that seeks to turn humanity into cyborg slaves.
Starring Jamie Lee Curtis, William Baldwin and Donald Sutherland.
Tippett Studio served as the Robot Animation Supervisors for the film. They were tasked with bringing the terrifying, half-human/half-machine creatures to life, blending organic body horror with industrial mechanics. Tippett’s work on this project resulted in some of the film’s most memorable visual spectacles.
This lot is part of the Phil Tippett Collection and will come with a co-signed COA by Phil Tippett.
Phil Tippett is the founder and namesake of Tippett Studio. His varied career in visual effects has spanned more than 30 years and includes two Academy Awards; and six nominations, one BAFTA award and four nominations, two Emmys and the advent of modern digital effects in motion pictures.
He is the inventor of the Stop-Motion technique called Go-Motion and even has a dinosaur species named after him: Elaphrosaurus philtippettorum.
