Venad Chiefs of Kerala as feudatories of Vijayanagara Empire, uninscribed copper cash, period of Venkatapati Raya II (1586-1614 AD), issued probably under Ravi Verma, Sarasan 86.1, 2.85g. Obv: Chola-style seated figure with a Parashu (battle-axe) to right. Rev: Rama seated cross-legged with Hanuman to right.

Extremely fine, Extremely rare.

Sarasan suggests that this rare type was struck by Ravi Verma after his pilgrimage to Rameshwaram.
