Main Description: Possibly War of 1812 Thomas French Contract Musket 1 of 4000 manufactured. Lock marked with Eagle and US, T. French Canton 1810. Blade front sight, no rear sight, tapered round barrel, smooth lock with hammer and frizzen that function. One piece smooth full military wood stock, forearm channel is chipped and cracked, straight grip, small cracks behind lock and back of barrel, small chips behind tang, dished out comb, smooth steel butt plate with unmarked tang, sling swivels, bayonet lug.
Wear: Metal finish turning brown with pitting, light rust, handling marks and wear. Stock shows marks, scratches and wear.
