Cal. 30-06. S# 1143519. Bbl. 24", marked behind front sight "SA" "(flaming bomb)" "12-19". Rifle produced during WWI to accept the "Pedersen" device. The left receiver rail has an oblong slot to serve as an ejection port when the device is used on the rifle. Receiver ring has "Mark I" in addition to standard markings. Rifle also has correct "Mark I" cutoff. The "Mark I" sear has undoubtedly been replaced w/ a standard type during overhaul. Ladder rear sight graduated to 2850yds. w/ out volley notch. Flat windage & elevation knobs. Original front sight base has replacement Lyman sporting blade w/ gold colored bead. Straight down bolt handle. All milled parts except for replacement retaining spring on lower band. Smooth trigger & buttplate. Unmarked straight grip replacement walnut stock w/ 2 recoil bolts. Stock does not have relief cut on left side below ejection port. Stock markings are not visible due to arsenal rework finish. Boyt Brown leather military style sling. CONDITION: stock set has light wear & handling marks throughout. Nose of comb has been reshaped to sharper profile. Metal has 60% original parkerized finish w/ added varnish like coating. Front sight base has notable loss of finish from installation of sheet metal sight protectors. Good shiny bore w/ lightly worn lands. (21-651/RW). CURIO. $400-600.
