SET. This instrument panel is an authentic, visually impactful, reproduction of a WWII era B17 G panel set made to Boeing specifications. The panel includes the lg. main center panel, the cowl flap/mag switch panel box & the CO2 fire control/engine starter panel. All instrumentation, lights, fluorescent light control rheostats, toggle switches & magneto switches are authentic WWII parts. The cowl flap control in the center box is “new old stock” from WWII B17 parts caches. Most of the parts used to construct the panel were removed from actual B17s scrapped at Kingman, Arizona after the Axis powers were defeated in WWII. The Reconstruction Finance Corporation established 5 lg. facilities for scrapping & disposal of WWII aircraft no longer needed by the military. One of the largest of these facilities was at Kingman, AZ. All panel items including the main panel wood & phenolic parts, the switch box cover & the CO2 panel sections are made from original WWII Boeing drawings. Authentically reproduced instrument panels like this utilizing original parts & original plans, exhibiting this level of detail, are nearly impossible to find today. CONDITION: instrument panel shows very light wear & all gauges, switches & toggles are undamaged. (02-15033/BF). $1,000-2,000.
