Cal. 45. NSN. Rare & unique Texas made, Civil War era "TEXAS" marked derringer, a recent discovery found in Oklahoma. This gun measures 5 1/2" overall w/ 1 5/8" bbl., 2 3/8" including breech. This unique example is a patent infringement of Henry Derringer, German silver mounted, scroll engraved. Engraving includes a Southwest flavor w/ cross hatching on flats of trigger guard finial & a radiating fluted hammer screw. Doug Eberhart in his text "The Derringer in America" shows nothing else like this & a recent letter from Doug Eberhart states his opinion that it was made in Texas by an unknown maker. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: letter of authenticity by Doug Eberhart. CONDITION: good, all original & complete. This gun has dark "as-is" patina w/ wear to engraving. Stock has well worn checkering, tacking marks on butt & 2 hairlines opposite lock. (01-17214/JS). ANTIQUE. $3,000-4,000.
