Cal. 30-40 KRAG. S# 215985. Bbl. 30". Model 1902 Tangent rear sight w/ sliding peep. Sight graduated to 2000yds. Blade front sight. Stacking swivel is not present on upper band. Sling swivel is not present in lower band. Unmarked non matching walnut stock set. Buttstock has been modified by reducing the comb height, approx. 3/4" & reshaping the buttplate to correspond. Butt swivel has been machined flush w/ stock eliminating swivel bow. Nickel plated oiler in butt. CONDITION: stock set has arsenal rework type finish w/ added lacquer finish as a preservative. Has notable loss of wood in inletted areas. Buttstock has lg. repaired crack extending from buttplate approx. 7 1/2" forward. Forend has notably thin appearance w/ loss of wood along bbl. channel. Receiver & buttplate have been polished bright, leaving loading gate & sideplate w/ thinning original blue finish. Balance of metal & thinning turning gray w/ light wear & scattered scratches. Good bore w/ lightly worn lands. (21-1629/RW). CURIO. $500-800.
