Cal. 45 ACP. S# 1084295. Bbl. 5". Mfg. 1943 by Union Switch & Signal Co. of Swissvale, PA; 55,000 units total. Mixture of Type I w/out "P" on slide & Type III w/ "P" on frame & w/in range of 1080000 to 1096404. Du-Lite blued 2 tone finish w/ distinctly darker appearance on front portion of slide. Slide stop & hammer also w/ darker appearance. Component characteristics mostly correct including Type 18 High Standard bbl. Mismatched grips; sm. ring Keyes Fibre on left & lg. ring Coltwood reinforced on right. MAGS: 1 good gray parkerized Colt 7 rd. CONDITION: very good overall appearance w/ occasional very faint marks & thinning near muzzle. Slide sits slightly forward on frame. Interior has sandblast finish; this along w/ Type I slide, Type III frame, lack of S# being stamped after finish & mismatched grips all point to professional refinish. Sm. impact mark on left outside edge of bbl. at muzzle, created before finishing. Bore & grips near excellent. Top right grip screw is blued replacement. (20-16/NW). CURIO. $5,000-6,500.
