Description Update 11-15-2024: 2” hairline crack along left side of forend between the bands
serial #1300828, 30-06, 26'' 11-18 dated Eddystone barrel with a bright very good bore showing slightly darkened grooves and excellent rifling. The metal surfaces retain excellent arsenal reapplied blue, the middle section of the receiver showing an area of lighter colored finish, likely from annealing, the rifle displaying crisp markings. The lightly cleaned oil finished stock rates very good with a few scattered small impact marks and abrasions. The stock has several clear cartouches including ''eagle head/ 3A'' behind the triggerguard, eagle head forward of the bottom metal and ''94'' near the stacking swivel. The rifle appears to be all matching with Eddystone parts. The bolt handle is also marked ''H'' with an off center flaming bomb. The rifle functions well mechanically and includes a cleaning kit with oiler stored in the buttstock. A wonderful example of the most issued U.S. rifle of World War I. (25A11738-RC8) {C&R} [John Micavich Collection] (700/900)
