(Disneyland, c.1954) An early original concept drawing for the Tomorrowland Entrance "Fountains of the 48 States" created by Imagineer Herb Ryman. In addition to helping shape the look of Tomorrowland, Ryman's earliest designs would often be taken to banks and other investors during the search for Disneyland Participant sponsors from 1954 to 1955. As Disneyland continued to develop, some of Herb's depicted quick sketch "suggestions" evolved into definite visual elements like the "Avenue of Flags" that enhanced the show quality of the entryway to Tomorrowland. Measuring approximately 13"x32.25", the large drawing is mounted on artist's board. The piece is in very good condition, exhibiting mild color toning and areas of discoloration from age, and minor wear from use.
