Tea Garden Token, Majuli Tea Estate, Brass, 3.08g, 21.10mm, Unlisted, Very Fine, Rare.Ref : A Tale of Tea Tokens, S. K. Bose, Anjali Dutta, Jayanta Dutta, Catalogue No. 12, page 96. This garden was founded by James Finlay and Company in the year 1897. The garden later came under the acquisition of Tata Tea and was finally taken over by Amalgamated Plantations Pvt. Ltd. The existing annual production of tea is around twelve lakh kilograms with an area under tea of 458.24 hectares. It appears from the archive records of India Government Mint, Kolkata that Calcutta Mint issued tokens for this garden.
