You haven't experienced San Antonio until you visit the oldest saloon in Texas! A Texas sized adventure, containing two attractions in one location, it is fun for the whole family! Established in 1881, The Buckhorn Saloon is where Teddy Roosevelt Recruited Rough Riders and where Pancho Villa is rumored to have planned the Mexican Revolution. Many of the original furnishings still grace the saloon today, including the back bar which was handcrafted of marble and cherry wood. Rest your feet where many cowboys have and enjoy an ice cold beer made right here in the Lone Star State. The Buckhorn Saloon and Museum is proud to welcome a new generation of visitors as it has recently completed a major renovation. Explore the enhanced animal halls and prepare yourself for an immersive Texas experience. Practice your sharp shooting skills in the Toepperwein shooting gallery and discover over 520 rare and unique animal species from around the world. Adventure into: Africa, Alaska, Asia, North America, the Seven Seas, the Carnival of Curiosities & the American Sideshow, with new displays frequently added! The Texas Ranger Museum houses hundreds of Texas Ranger artifacts including revolvers, automatic handguns, sawed off shotguns, badges, photographs and much more. Notable Texas Rangers exhibited in the collection include: Ray Martinez, Joaquin Jackson, John B. Armstrong, and Frank Hamer.
