The 13th Warrior (1999) - King's Burial Sword.
Comes with a COA co-signed by the film's prop fabricator.
The hilt is a authentic Red Deer antler from the Highlands of Scotland. Aluminum blade.
Original King's burial sword used in the John McTiernan directed historical action film 'The 13th Warrior' (1999), which is a loose adaptation of the tale of Beowulf combined with Ahmad ibn Fadlan's historical account of the Volga Vikings.
Starring Antonio Banderas as ibn Fadlan, as well as Diane Venora and Omar Sharif.
The Kings Burial Sword was made by Simon Athertons sword smith, Brian Davenport (unfortunately, now deceased).
Certain swords were made by Brian at his shop in Fort William, Scotland, then shipped to in Vancouver , where they were assembled and final finish applied.
Brian engraved his logo on some of the blades. His logo is a D with a B inside it, BD, Brian Davenport.
Under the BD is a Scottish thistle with FW, Fort William.
The leather pouch on the base of the pommel contains bones carved out of Red deer antler, the same as the hand grip.
Legend has it that the dead kings sword was handed down to his first son. The dead kings thumb was encased in a leather pouch and attached to the swords pommel. Brian carved the thumb bones out of antler and attached them to the pommel.
