THREE 19TH CENTURY PERCUSSION SPORTING ARMS.
1) HEAVY BARREL HALF STOCK RIFLE. Cal. 36. NSN. This unmarked back action half stock weighs in at a whopping 11.5 lbs. Totally unmarked. Dbl. set triggers. Sm. iron patch box. Bbl. is lightly engraved at breech w/ 2 silver bands. Lock, patch box & trigger guard also lightly engraved. CONDITION: fair to good overall. Well used in its day. Metal is a dark patina. Well worn. Stock has hand worn patina w/ broken wrist having w/ repair & well patinaed screws & tacks. Striped stock is checkered at wrist. Has a 1 1/2" opening between thimble & trigger guard that is well patinad over. Mechanically functional w/ pitted bore (01-17311/JS). 2) GERMANIC CARVED SXS. Cal. 20 Ga. NSN. 49" Overall having 32" bbls. w/ central rib & inset name in silver. Locks are also inset in silver like bbls. "I.N. MITHELSIE IN MUHLHAUSEN". Locks & hammers are lightly engraved. Locks have pivoting safeties. Stock & wooden trigger guard are carved w/ forestock terminating into an animal's head w/ lg. teeth & inset ebony & mother of pearl eyes. CONDITION: fair to good overall, mechanically fine w/ clear dark bores. Carved stock has break forward of lock, which has crude glued repair. (01-17313/JS). 3) VAN WART, LONDON PERCUSSION SXS SHOTGUN. Cal. 12 Ga. NSN. Back action locks w/ 30" twist bbls. having central spine marked "LONDON" w/ silver inlaid hunting scene, 4 inlaid platinum bands & platinum blow outs. Lightly figured European walnut has checkered wrist. Iron trigger guard, thimbles & buttplate. CONDITION: good overall. Mechanics are fine w/ smooth dark bores. Metal overall is a dark plum/brown patina. Hammers are recolored & are gray/plum. Hammer screw on right is replaced. Brass tipped ramrod, worm at other end. Stock is sound & well fit.
