Swift Cloud belonged to Bear Ribs' Chankaokhan Soreback Band. He was a brave warrior who fought in the Indian Wars, surrendering with Bear Ribs in 1881 and settling on the Moreau River on the Standing Rock Reservation where he took up farming.
