Early medieval Maharashtra, Khandesh region, 'bull' type alloyed copper coin of 'Vishnukundin' fabric, attributed to a local Rashtrakuta dynasty (c.600-700 AD). 0.89g. Obv: Bull standing facing right, horizontal Brahmi letter Shri and lotus / sun symbol above. Rev: Kalasha (vase) placed on a pedestal with two lampposts flanking it.

Extremely fine, Rare.

The coin is double struck on reverse and also shows a ghost image of the 'Shri' on obverse. Most likely it was a brockage (Lakhi) coin which was then restruck to correct the error in striking.
