Star Wars - Return of the Jedi (1983) (Phil Tippett Collection) - Signed Rancor Monster Model - Lot A.
Original vintage Star Wars commercially made available model of the Rancor monster from the sci-fi film 'Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi' (1983), where, after a daring mission to rescue Han Solo from Jabba the Hutt, the Rebels dispatch to Endor to destroy the second Death Star.
This model was made and hand painted by Phil Tippett himself and was proudly on display at Phil Tippett Studio.
Model base has been signed by Phil Tippett.
This lot is part of the Phil Tippett Collection and will come with a co-signed COA by Phil Tippett.
Phil Tippett is the founder and namesake of Tippett Studio. His varied career in visual effects has spanned more than 30 years and includes two Academy Awards; and six nominations, one BAFTA award and four nominations, two Emmys and the advent of modern digital effects in motion pictures.
He is the inventor of the Stop-Motion technique called Go-Motion and even has a dinosaur species named after him: Elaphrosaurus philtippettorum.
