(Disneyland, 1955) An architectural rendering of the North elevation for Sleeping Beauty Castle by Roland Hill. Disney and Hill met during World War I, and quickly connected over Hill's sketches of the castles they encountered throughout France and Germany. In the following years, Hill contributed his castle knowledge on several Disney film projects before joining the Studio in the 1950s. As Walt's de facto castle expert, Hill took on design lead for WED Enterprises' castle attraction at Disneyland. Housed in a 31.5"x41.5" frame, the architectural rendering displays in good condition, exhibiting a few creases and yellowing from age. The rendering is mounted to foam board within the frame. A thin pencil outline was used to designate the center of the imagery.
