Action: Single Shot Drop Block Rifle
Main Description: Manufactured by Steyr 1886, visible numbers match. This rifle was intended to be purchased by Portugal which did not accept them, Steyr then sold them to South Africa where they were used in the Boer Wars. Barley corn front sight with ramp, adjustable u notched ladder rear sight, blued finish, top of receiver marked ZAR, short lever, large straight trigger. Two piece smooth full military wood stocks, straight grip, smooth steel butt plate, Steyr roundel on right side of stock, sling swivels, cleaning rod, bayonet lug.
Wear: Metal finish shows a few light rust speckles, scratches, handling marks and wear. Stocks show some marks, scratches and wear.
