Cal. 28-30. S# 11400. Most closely corresponding to the Schuetzen rifle no. 51, this rifle is marked "45" on frame. It has an "S" lever, instead of the Schuetzen lever. It has 29 1/2", 1/2 rnd., 1/2 oct. bbl. w/ "0" weight mark. Stevens markings are on top flat, w/ caliber on top left flat. Bbl. is cut for ivory bead front sight & 2 open dovetails for long tube scope. There is no cut for rear bbl. sight. Casehardened 44 action w/ "S" lever is fitted w/ Lyman tang sight. Sm. parts are blued. Lightly figured American walnut swan necked Schuetzen style stock w/ casehardened Swiss butt is nicely checkered at grip & has right hand swept cheekpiece. Matching forend w/ central palm swell has schnabeled tip. CONDITION: bbl. retains over 90% original blue w/ sharp edge wear. Action retains 90-95% casehardening color w/ some light flecking on right side. Blue is excellent on sm. parts. Stocks retain about 90% of their original finish w/ some minor light marks, checkering lightly worn. Buttplate retains approx. 70% of its casehardening color. Bright & shiny bore, strong rifling throughout. (20-541/MGM30). CURIO. $1,750-2,750.
