Cal. 30-06. S# 1178257. Replacement 24" bbl. marked behind front sight "SA" flaming bomb & "5-42". Rear sight has flat windage knob marked "R" & dished elevation knob. Rear sight base made w/out lightening cuts & ladder graduated to 2,850 yds. w/out volley notch. Blade front sight. Receiver is marked "U.S. SPRINGFIELD ARMORY MODEL 1903 MARK I". Receiver rail has ejection port for Pederson device. Rifle originally mfg. for use w/ Pederson device, has been given "C" type stock. The stock is unmarked except for "S" in cutoff recess. Trigger & cutoff replaced w/ standard parts. All milled furniture except stamped trap buttplate. 1903 Bolt w/ swept handle. Bolt shroud & safety marked "R". Cutoff is marked "R". Has smooth narrow trigger. CONDITION: stock set has arsenal rework type finish w/ light wear, dents, scratches & moderate staining throughout. Metal has 70% original parkerizing w/ thinning & wear. Good bore w/ worn lands & light frosting in grooves. (19-5812/RW). CURIO. $500-700.
