Cal. 30-40 Krag. S# 66709. Bbl. 30". Receiver marked on left side "MODEL 1896". Model 1901 ladder rear sight. Blade front sight. Matching walnut stock set. Smooth trap buttplate w/ curved toe. Boxed illegible cartouche on left side of stock over trigger guard. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: 11 5/8" fullered blade bayonet marked on left ricasso "1903", marked on right ricasso "US". Walnut grips. Left grip has been crudely stamped "1251" rack number. Metal turning overall gray w/ scattered spots of light oxidation & sm. dents on crossguard. Blade is noticeably chipped on the edge at midpoint. Steel scabbard w/ belt hanger. Scabbard turning overall gray & patina. CONDITION: stock has moderately worn original finish w/ scattered dents & scratches. Metal turning gray w/ traces of blue & scattered spots of oxidation. Buttplate & sideplate have thinning brass coloration. Very good shiny bore. (01-17379/RW). ANTIQUE. $800-1,200.
