Cal. 69. NSN. Standard configuration, 42” rnd. bbl. w/ “V P” eagle head proofs, dated 1849 on tang. Lock is marked “Springfield 1845”, rear of hammer & an eagle w/ “U.S.” forward. CONDITION: metal is a mixed gray patina, discernable bbl. & lock markings. Stock is sound w/ one sm. cartouche. About 4” crack on right side of forestock between front bands. Ramrod is cut & swelled type for Model 1861. Mechanically fine though nipple is broken. Clear, smooth bore. (01-17466/JS). ANTIQUE. $600-800.
