Cal. 30-06. S# 1816850. Bbl. 24". Very nice scarce Type II National Match rifle. S# is below that of newly mfg. National Match rifles which should fall in the 4.2 to 6.9 million range, however earlier rifles were reused & rebuilt as needed. Bbl. marked on right side "HRA", drawing number is obscured by added five-pointed star & "PT". Dated 6-52. Additionally marked "RS13", "P" & "M". Throat gauges 1.0, muzzle gauges slightly less than 1.0. Rear sight w/ correct adjustable aperture. Moveable base marked on left side "NM/2" & marked on right side w/ "NM". Windage knob marked "NM". Blade front sight w/ protective ears. Marked on right side "NM.062". Operating rod marked "NM" & "SA". Hammer marked "SA". Safety marked "IHC". Gas cylinder marked "NM" behind stacking swivel. High hump gas cylinder lock, cross slot gas cylinder lock screw. "SA" marked trigger housing is additionally marked in white in floorplate w/ "6850". Walnut stock set. Buttstock marked in bbl. groove w/ "6850". Buttstock has faint boxed eagle & three star acceptance mark. Circle "P" proof under grip is crisp & clear. Stock has glass bedding w/ appearance of very nice arsenal workmanship. Handguards are tight. Front handguard is not attached w/ screws. Green web sling. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: molded plastic "CMP" carrying case. Rifle has "CMP" certificate of authenticity & invoice. Also included is reprint of American Rifleman article "The National Match MI" by Bruce Canfield & misc. paperwork relating to the MI Garand Rifle. CONDITION: attractive original finished stock set w/ very sm. scattered handling marks. Metal has Parkerized finish showing very little high point wear. Near excellent shiny bore. (20-3968/RW).
