1) BRITISH ENFIELD PATTERN SNIDER CONVERSION MUSKET. Cal. 577 Snider. NSN. Bbl. 36 3/4" w/ Military blade front sight & graduated leaf rear sight. Conversion unit swings right for loading. Front ring, breech block, top tang & trigger guard tang have markings in an unidentified language. Unmarked lock. 3 Band full length walnut stock w/ brass buttplate, trigger guard & nose cap. Slotted tip iron ramrod. CONDITION: metal finish has faded to gray w/ a series of sm. dents & the rear bbl. band area. Refinished stock shows scattered handling marks. Bore retains sound rifling. (01-17388/DS). 2) NEEDHAM MODEL 1863 CONVERSION SADDLE RING CARBINE. Cal 58 RF. NSN. Bbl. 18 1/4". Replacement German silver blade front sight w/ original 2 folding leaf rear sight. Breech block swings forward on right side for loading. Lock is marked "US/BRIDESBURG" w/ date of 1864. Band fastened walnut carbine stock w/ iron buttplate & trigger guard having saddle ring bar on left side. CONDITION: bbl. & stock fittings have cleaned gray appearance showing pitting & light corrosion. Lock & action have dark brown patina appearance. Refinished stock shows dents & handling marks w/ sm. chips & cracks around lock & action areas. Comb in wrist have spots of plastic wood fill. Dark bore w/ rifling showing spots of deep pitting. (01-17392/DS). BOTH ANTIQUE. $700-1,000.
