Cal. 44. S# 5F. Bbl. 26 1/2” tapered rnd. engraved “5F” at rear. Small sized Wheelock w/ sliding hand cover & nicely filed dog marked “IT” on the interior. (There is an IT (name unknown) working in Suhl ca 1680). Much newer walnut stock has long swan neck into butt & attaches to bbl. w/ single pin & screw at tang. Stock is chamfered & butt is deeply fluted w/ incised carved channels. Steel ramrod is held by a single pipe. CONDITION: fair to good, all metal parts cleaned to silver over considerable pitting & w/ subsequent darkening. Stock retains most of what appears to be its original finish & is rather crudely made. Lock appears to be intact but was not tested for functioning. Dark pitted bore. (01-17210/MGM139). ANTIQUE. $2,500-4,000.
