RIFLE. Cal. 8mm Mauser. S# 4665h. Bbl. 23 3/4". All visible numbers match. Receiver marked on left rail "Mod98". Receiver ring marked on top w/ "ax" "41". Right side of receiver ring has 2 Waffenamt 280 & one Waffenamt 359. Markings have been enhanced in white. Tangent rear sight graduated to 2000m. Inverted "V" front sight w/ protective hood. Cleaning rod & bayonet bar are present. All milled furniture except for cup type buttplate. Laminated stock set w/ steel takedown hole. Buttstock marked on right side w/ "droop winged" eagle & "H" w/ Waffenamt??. CONDITION: stock set has moderate wear, dents, scratches & staining commensurate w/ long service. Stock has shallow cracks on both sides of recoil bolt on right side. Metal turning overall gray w/ original finish in protective areas w/ light wear & handling marks. Good shiny bore. (21-1013/RW).
