Smith & Wesson King's Modified Hand Ejector (Model of 1917) Double Action Revolver, #73193, .45 ACP cal., 6.5'' barrel, blue finish, custom checkered walnut thumbrest Sanderson grips, King's adjustable white outline rear sigh, with King's Super Target rib with reflecto undercut Patridge front sight blade. Shipped Oct. 14, 1918, to Bush Terminal, a U.S. Gov't storage facility located in New Jersey, with factory letter signed by S&W Historian Roy G. Jinks. The Super King Target modifications were completed after this revolver was released as a War Surplus handgun. The area beneath the left grip panel shows the date 11.46, indicating that this revolver was returned to the factory for a probable refinish after the King's work was completed. Condition is excellent as modified, retaining approx. 98% factory blue. Grips are excellent showing little use. Light index mark to cylinder. Crisp action, bright bore. Est.: $2,500-$3,500. (C&R/PPT)
