Smith & Wesson First Model Hand Ejector Triplelock Double Action Revolver, #49, .455 MK II cal., 6.5'' barrel, blue finish, factory checkered walnut grips with S&W medallions, standard sights, with lanyard loop in butt. Shipped Oct. 1, 1914, to Wilkinson Sword Co., London, England, with factory letter signed by S&W Historian Roy G. Jinks. Condition is fine to near excellent retaining approx. 92% original blue, with thinning at muzzle, backstrap, topstrap, and high edges. Small areas of light pitting to forward third of barrel. Small scuffs to right side just forward the sideplate. Correct period grips with crisp checking, no factory numbers to inside of panels; butt of left grip panel with British rack number 4684. ''(Crown)/V'' proofmarks to barrel and frame, with alternating ''(crown)/V'' and ''(crown)/CP'' proofmarks in cylinder flutes. Thin index mark to cylinder. Crisp action, fine bore.
