1949, nickel-brass pattern 2 annas, Bombay mint, 4.28g. Obv: Lion capital of Ashoka pillar around legend government of India, with four star's one in each corer. Rev: Peacock facing left in centre, date, denomination in three language, KM Pn 10.

Uncirculated, Very rare.

No coins were struck for circulation in 1948 or 1949 as the Bombay mint searched for their own style after Indian independence. A number of patterns were struck in very limited quatinty for six denominations with at least eight different designs.
