serial #0822103612R, 45-70 Govt, 23 1/2'' barrels with bright, excellent bores. The metal surfaces retain about 99% original blue with only a few light handling marks and a few specks of light surface oxidation. The left side of the frame is marked ''MR221 Remington'' and the ''MP-221'' model designation is found on the watertable, the former being assigned by the importer. The checkered European walnut pistolgrip stock and field-style forend with checkered panels rate excellent, the buttstock is fitted with a factory ventilated pad. The barrels are sighted with a simple bead front and a shallow square notch rear, the rear of the rib is grooved for optics mounting. The rifle is equipped with a set of sling swivels and the original Remington box is included.
