Cal. 45 ACP. S# 5026. Bbl. 5". Mfg. 1918 as first part of Army contract; completed in 1918. Appropriately stamped "E" on left front of trigger guard & rear of slide. Correct safety tab checkered w/out milling cut. Blued checkered slide stop w/out milling cut. Right front of trigger guard w/ assembler # 42. Original dbl. diamond walnut grips w/ carving on lower left diamond appearing to be "AT". Correct Type 16 Remington " UMC bbl. "E28" under eagle head proof; early variation had "E1". Smooth semi circular front sight & U notch rear. MAGS: 1 correct good 2 tone 7 rd. w/ short base lip & early feed lip w/out detent; scattered peppery oxidation. CONDITION: good plus black refinished appearance of Cerakote or similar appearing process. All components finished except worn grip screws & blued slide stop. Fair to good worn grips; fair bore w/ wear & light to moderate pitting. Overly light trigger pull allows hammer to follow slide. (19-5980/NW). CURIO. $1,000-1,500.
