Cal. 12 Ga., 2 3/4". S# U162699. Bbl. 22 13/16". Takedown. Cyl. Bore. Receiver marked only w/ S#. Bbl. Marked on top "MODEL 10-A REMINGTON ARMS-UNION METALLIC CARTRIDGE CO. REMINGTON WORKS, ILION, NEW YORK U.S.A. PATENTED FEBRUARY 3 1903 AND MAY 16 1905". Shotgun is in correct S# range for trench gun. Lacks martial markings on receiver. Sm. "REP" cartouche on right side of bbl. Correct 3 screw bayonet lug. Bayonet lug marked only w/ partially obscured eagle acceptance mark on face. Unmarked pistol grip walnut stock set w/ grooved slide handle. Buttstock has factory fitted inletted swivel. Replacement steel checkered Winchester type buttplate w/ widow"s peak. Handguard assembly is not present but bbl. extension has threaded hole on right & left side. Tan Kerr Nobuckl sling. CONDITION: stock set has moderate wear, dents, staining & scratches. 1" Crack behind upper tang. Buttplate is proud of wood in most areas w/ crack & sm. missing chips at heel. Takedown is loose. Original blue is turning overall gray & patina w/ wear, dents, scratches & tool marks w/ spots of oxidation & fine pitting throughout. Lock screw is missing from trigger guard retaining screw. Very good bright shiny bore w/ several sm. streaks of fouling. Bbl. has hole approx. 1/8" in diameter drilled nearly through in underside midway of chamber. (20-1193/RW). MODERN. $1,000-1,500.
