Mfg. 1911 as 1st variation w/ sequential numbering resumed from 1911-1935; 1911 numbered 1-3,000 w/out “L” prefix. 2nd variation used “L” prefix to 1928 & 3rd variation mfg. w/out bbl. ribs 1929-1935. Blue finish. Ivory 2 piece grips. Correct top rib address of “REMINGTON ARMS-U.M.C.CO. ILLION, N.Y.” (“O” of “CO.” is lg. sized). CONDITION: very good overall appearance w/ occasional spot of peppery oxidation, pinprick oxidation & slightly mottled tone to frame w/ grip area turning to patina. Solid undamaged hinge. Very good ivory grips have a pleasing aged coloration. Almost unheard of near excellent bores. (20-478/NW). CURIO. $800-1,200.
