PISTOL. Cal. 9mm Luger. S# 5. Bbl. 5". Pistol has most standard P1 features & markings except S# 5 is stamped inside frame just forward of frame recoil reinforcement bar plus push button mag. release at rear of trigger guard. Left side of slide has circle dot proof at front followed by Walther banner & ends w/ "P1 Kal. 9mm" over "5/76" & 4 pointed star. Safety markings are white "S" & red "F". Pistol void of any other numbers or proofs. Square faced front sight has recessed white dot & "4" on left side; rear sight has inset white bar below wide squared notch. Standard checkered black plastic P1 grips w/ cut out for its lanyard loop, thumb position for RH use & relieved for push button mag. release. Bottom left side of frame between grip & mag.-well opening has Simpson Ltd. import mark. MAGS: 1 commercial Walther 8 rd. w/ bottom left having Walther banner plus "P38 9mm". Modern follower w/ dbl. reinforcing grooves. Notch for latching mag. formed w/ end mill of 11/64" diameter to depth of 7/64" from side of body. Upper 3/4 of mag. polished to in the white; remainder of body polished blue w/ push button floorplate matte finished (no witness marks from regular P38 latch). CONDITION: all aspects near excellent including bore & grips. PROVENANCE: Ex Hen Visser Collection; Ex Dr. Geoffrey Sturgess Collection. (20-340/NW). MODERN. $2,500-4,500.
